ntellectual midgets and Pee Wee Herman The Congressman; Hell will freeze over before politicians can fix this economy.

The economy is in shambles. Unemployment is at an all-time high. Foreclosure has become an epidemic and we are looking to the same screw-up’s who put us in this mess to get us out.

Seriously, and I say this with all due respect the handicapped and economically disadvantaged, we would have a better chance of grabbing a random homeless, blind, deaf, mute, quadriplegic out of a refrigerator box shanty in a west Philly alleyway and betting one million dollars that we could train him to win the Ironman in a week, than we ever will depending on succubus congressmen and senators to get us out of this mess of which they are responsible.

Congress will blame this meltdown on aliens and the chupacabra before they admit any wrong doing.

Turn on the news and you’ll see an orgy of sweaty brow, finger-wagging and jaw-flapping politicians blaming a straw man CEO of an investment banking firm for ten years of his firm’s economic gluttony and purging (though he’s only been in this executive position for 90 days). It’s a set up. Wake up. It’s all just a distraction.

Bring in a clean cut yet power hungry executive, put him through rapid promotion from VP to CEO, tell him he’s going to a press conference then blindfold him, lead him to a 3×3 ft closet, toss in a dozen stink bombs, 10 day old soiled adult diapers, bottle rockets and fire crackers, turn out the lights, take off the blindfold, throw in a rabid squirrel, slam the door shut and 5 days later let him out to and ask him to run the Boston Marathon wearing an eye patch, Speedo and flip-flops while waving pompoms. Let’s get real. We need solutions, not a congressional Kid n’ Play dance competition. It’s a joke and we are the ones being laughed at; you, me and our children.

I have an idea! For the next presidential election we can have Pee Wee Herman run under the democratic ticket, the hunchback of notre dame can run under the republican ticket and we can have Chubaka run the CNN televised debate and we can have the post debate commentaries by Lady Gaga and the Teletubbies and why not? Americans would complain for 2 days and then buy the latest Asterix Comic for voting advice on the next election.

Over the last year, Unites State Government has passed several unprecedented spending bills. Unless you have been living under a rock, you have heard of the Stimulus Bills. Lawmakers told us that these bills were needed to save the economy. One look at the government’s spending report for Fiscal Year 2009 provides multiply examples of wasteful government spending.

Hawaii and Guam are spending millions on controlling brown snakes. In Fiscal Year 2009, Representatives Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) and Representative Madeline Bordallo (D-Guam) requested $1.2 million. Representatives Hirono and Borallo requested the money to control brown snakes. Even more astonishing, similar requests were made each of the last 14 years. A total of $14.6 million has been used to control brown snakes.

$50,000 for tree replacement. House of Representatives Appropriator Carolyn Kilpatrick ( D-Mich ) requested $50,000 for tree replacement. The tree was in River Rouge, MI. River Rouge, MI is a town of less than 10,000 people. Maybe the trees did need replaced but why should the federal government pay for it? Just because Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-Mich) could get it done and maybe get a few votes? Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-Mich), thank you for a shining example of wasteful government spending.

Military spending receives a large amount of attention. Usually, the attention is on spending for the Iraq war. This story is not about war spending but about spending on an access road. Representative Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) joined Senators Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) and Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii) in requesting $30 million. The $30 million will be spent on Phase Five of an access road at Pohakuloa Training Area. Phases One through Four have already cost $74.4 million. Now that is wasteful government spending.

Veterans benefits and military spending have received a large amount of attention. Our military veterans deserve the best benefits money can buy. This spending story has nothing to do with veterans benefits. It is about a request for money to build a dining hall. Representative Louise Slaughter joined then Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) in requesting $9 million to build a dining hall at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

Another example of wasteful government spending comes from Ames, Iowa. Swine farms give off a large amount of odor. I am sure most people would agree that pigs can be stinky. Would they label this a problem for the federal government? Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) would. He recently requested #1.791 million to research odor management for pigs. That gives new meaning to “pork barrel spending”.

Now I can call Bull when I see it. We seriously have to spend 1.8 million to find out why swine manure stinks? Thats ridiculous. Has anyone took the initiative to study the human feces to see if we excrete nutrients. If the time was taken to study this then they would more then likely determine that humans excrete nutrients in their feces as well. Also, as for odor control, we as humans, have invented the toilet. Why not spend this money on creating a sanitary way to not only dispose of the swine manure, but it would also act to control the odor. There is no reason to do a study on why manure has an odor. It always has and always will. Thats part of anatomy. Lets spend this money on something more important, like finding homes for all the children who are abandoned at birth and given up for adoption of just left out on the Hospitals doorstep.

Military branches are always researching new weapon systems. It is necessary to keep America the superpower that we are and protect our citizens. It is not surprising the Department of Defense is developing a new jet plane. The Joint Strike Fighter has been in development for several years. Congress decided that the current engine needed competition to make it cheaper. They alotted $465,000,000 to develop a second engine. There was nothing wrong with the current engine being tested. Congress just wanted more competition.

A total of 100 Senators and 435 Representatives have refused to be associated with this bill by remaining anonymous. Hint, hint, anyone? If the officials we have elected are hiding their voices and not wanting to be tagged with this, then why has the millions of dollars even been allotted for these mind blowing bills? $465 million for competition level engines? I urge you to pick up the phone, call your local Representative, and let them know how utterly disgusted you are with the way taxpayer’s dollars are being spent.

The American flag does not only show a red and white stripes with star on blue background but there is also a lot of meaning. The stars and the colors were not picked out because they look good together but it is because it has a lot of meaning to it. When you look at the American flag, it represents a nation that is filled with freedom, prosperity and hope.

There is a very strong meaning behind the American flag colors. This meaning makes the people believe that they have a bright feature ahead of them. It may look so simple but behind it is a driving force that makes each American citizen strive for victory.

Red, white and blue might look basic and simple but once you see it in a totally different perspective then you might probably want to change your mind. These components were carefully thought and planned by great men that we know and I could say they did a pretty good job in designing the famous icon around the world today, which is the American flag.

The people who created the American flag must be recognized for what they created. Their hard work must be an inspiration especially to the American people. The white color stands for purity and innocence, blue is for justice and vigilance and of course red is for hardiness and valor.

But aside from the meanings of American flag colors, there is still a lot more behind it. If you get the chance to know more about the history of the American flag, for sure you will be more proud of it. And from then one you should never forget what the American flag signifies.

It is not just a piece of cloth that is displayed outside your house or buildings. It stands for a whole nation and for each American people. Knowing the meaning of American flag colors and everything about means a lot.

So, if you see the American flag you should give respect. Disgracing means that you also disgrace your country.

by Dan Lillback

www.americanjunto.org

Much of the current financial industry is in upheaval. There are banks deemed too big to fail, while major companies such as GM and Chrysler, are deemed able to fail, if the White House does not agree with their direction.

There are a number of aspects of failure that aid in eventual success, with a wide range of examples being sized just right to fail. Being too big to fail is a matter of perspective and direction, specifically with the arbitrary assignments of importance that exist in todays society. Lets examine the largest bank in the world, and then get larger from there and analyze what it means to be too big to fail.

Citigroup is the largest bank in the world, with a market cap of over $300 billion, and controlling over $2 trillion dollar in total assets.

If you work or are a vendor for Citigroup or a subsidiary, you probably have valid concerns about your job and a portion of your 401(k) if there was a failure in the organization. Most employees in Citigroup probably had little to do with the creation of some of the financial derivatives that are leading the organization toward failure. In fact most employees have attempted to make the company more successful through traditional routes of working hard and gaining customers.

People outside of Citigroup see a massive business, with plenty of assets that are ready for the taking. Private equity groups, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs would love to get a hold of a few of the productive assets within Citi. The malinvestment within the organization, and many like it, are unable to fail as a result of the governments intervention, allowing the employees to keep their jobs, but potentially reducing options for additional employment as a result of the number of other companies that would be created from the liquidation and separation of the productive and unproductive assets.

Citigroup is still too big to fail? How about something a bit larger?

Try the Roman Empire on for size; the empire was at one point the greatest force in known civilization. This empire at its height controlled over 20% of the worlds population. The empire was responsible for most of the ideal of western government, philosophy, art, currency, and military advancements. The citizens of the Roman Empire had more opportunities than most, but again depending on your perspective the demise of the Roman Empire was met with either exhilaration or disappointment.

Clearly those in charge of the Roman Empire had much more to lose than those that supported the vast empire. The incredible Roman army, documented for much of the success of the empire, probably enjoyed the opportunity to move back to their land and see their families again, after long tours, creating the empire.

Many of the conquered countries of the Roman Empire, most likely had a different perspective of the collapse of the empire. There ability to begin to operate autonomously without being persecuted by the Roman Empire, surely was met with a breath of fresh air.

So, the failure of the Roman Empire was massive for the hierarchy of the empire, but probably less so for the soldiers, the conquered countries, and the oppressed, which were spread well across the empire.

Was the Roman Empire too big to fail? Is Citi too big to fail? It always depends on perspective, the important question to ask, is why would something that is ready to fail be forcefully propped up? Surely there is a money trail heading to some of the key politicians making the call, and clearly like the Roman Empire those elitists would be more impacted by the failure of any large organization much more than the bulk of taxpayers bearing the load. Failures are simply pathways to success; it just depends on your direction and perspective.

We in America do not have a government by the majority. We have a government by the majority who participate.

Most of what we know or have guessed about Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales has come from observing the buildings situated there, the majority of which have been sadly neglected for far too long. There are historical tales, such as the one about Joseph of Arimathea, who traded tin in Glastonbury, just across the water and was one of the first missionaries to go to this area.

Tradition has it that the father of Caractacus took his son on a journey to Rome, where they were converted to Christianity. Later, they returned to the Vale of Glamorgan with Bran The Blessed, the missionary. It is a fact that Christianity was a popular belief there early in the Fourth Century and that south Wales sent several bishops to the Council of Rome.

St. Baruchs Church on Barry Island is one of the oldest shrines in the area, but it too is sadly dilapidated. Barry Island itself became one of the most important monastic retreats in south Wales. Steep and Flat Holms, the old Viking island settlements in the Bristol Channel just off Barry, were also significant in this regard. Another most important link in this chain was St. Illtyds Seminary of 2,200 students in Llantwit Major.

There was an ancient Roman fort and accompanying naval dockyard on Porthkerry Point, which had obviously jutted out further into the sea than it does now and later a castle was built on their ruins. There have been found many wolf and deer bones between Sully and Barry - enough to show that they had existed there in great numbers. There have also been a large number of findings of arrowheads, flints, needles and coins, proving that people were there to prey on them too.

Barry Island was first called ‘Baruch’s Island’, as far as we know, after Saint Baruch. St. Baruch had been found on one of the beeches, washed up dead in 700 AD. He is known to have drowned when returning from Flat Holm, which was commonly used as a retreat by religious people over Lent.

He and Gwelches were disciples of Saint Cadoc at that time and on their return to the island, they realized that they had forgotten their enchiridion or religious manual. St. Cadoc made them do back to fetch it. Neither men returned alive. St. Baruch’s most acclaimed student, St. Illtyd was educated there.

Barry Island has had its name changed several times over the centuries. It was once called ‘Island of the Saints’ and ‘Insular of Peiros’, after St. Peiro, who was St. Illtyd’s successor at the seminary at Llantwit Major. He was also St. Samson’s luminary. There was also a St. Doeninas, who was abbot of a nearby abbey on Friars’ Point.

It’s nice to have flowers around to brighten up your day. But spending a million dollars on flowers to decorate government offices is a big waste of taxpayers’ money.

That’s the consensus of the British people after learning that their hard-earned money was used to purchase expensive flowers to brighten up the offices of cabinet members for the past four years.

Based on the current exchange rate, insiders say close to 780,000 - a whopping $1,091,248.03 - was wasted because of this.

The biggest offender is the Department for Children, Schools and Families that spent 174,600 - or $244,236.70 - on potted plants and cut flowers. In second place is the Foreign Office that spent 106,053 or $148,287.72.

“The money was spent on providing floral arrangements for official dinners and events, and bouquets for visiting dignitaries such as Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France’s first lady,” according to Murray Wardrop of the Telegraph.Co.UK.

Special mention, on the other hand, goes to British labor politician Lord Peter Mandelson who reportedly spends over 2,000 or $2,794.71 for flowers every month.

Ironically, Mandelson is the business secretary or the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform to be exact. Critics say that in a time where business is bad because of the economic crisis, Mandelson chose to decorate his office instead of putting his energy where it is needed.

“The 24,155 ($33,793.38) on plants by Lord Mandelson’s Department for Business over the past 11 months stands in contrast to Chancellor Alistair Darling, who has cancelled flower orders. A Treasury contract worth 3,666 to provide flowers has been axed,” Wardrop said.

These figures were uncovered by Jeremy Hunt, the British Conservative Member of Parliament for Surrey South West.

“When times are tough, it is crazy that the government is spending so much on pot plants. Each department needs to think carefully about whether this sort of spending can be justified,” he said.

“People up and down the country will be outraged at this waste of taxpayers’ money. When everyone is struggling to get by, splashing out such vast sums on pot plants is a complete waste,” he added.

For the great majority who don’t have enough money to buy flowers, look around for the best deals. Your local florist can help you in this matter.

During the 2008 presidential election, a video played on national TV where elementary school children were singing Obama’s campaign slogans. In the weeks since the election, there seems to be more and more examples of liberal brainwashing in our schools. Reports of these instances of liberal bias being taught are wide-spread, from elementary students crying if they don’t say the liberal side, to college students penalized, possibly with lower grades, if they state a conservative belief.

To illustrate, before the election, a public school teacher asked her class to wear blue to support Obama on the Tuesday prior to the election. Since she did not ask Republican children to wear Red for McCain, she had no right to do this.

The most shocking, on the news of 10/7/08, a militant-looking group of middle school boys were shown on another video, dressed in black uniforms with an Obama logo on their shirts. They were doing a military-like exercise of marching while displaying clinched fists and other confrontational gestures, and singing praises to Obama. There was an Obama sign in the background. They obviously had practiced this routine many times, all this done in a public school, using class time, and the services of a teacher with salary paid for by taxpayers. Apparently, the American public never objected using their taxes for this purposes.

Brainwashing our youth in liberalism with no rebuttal from the conservative side should come front and foremost in the educational issues of today’s world. Why? How easily we forget the lessons of history. Remember Hitler’s Youth? Boys were inducted into Hitler’s Youth at age 10 for physical and military training. They were also taught to hate Jews, to believe in Aryan supremacy, and to spy and report on their parents, often getting their parents in trouble with the Gestapo police. Girls had similar programs. This childhood brainwashing worked. Hitler’s Youth formed Hitler’s army in World War II, obedient soldiers that knew no different way to think and were incapable of thinking for themselves.

Obama is not, however, the main point I am stressing in this educational problem. Obama’s campaign just gave prime examples of indoctrination.

So what is my purpose? We see, more often than not, that a liberal bias is overrunning our school curriculum, overwhelming conservative views, so that American youth learn just one side, and usually it is the liberal aspect. Political correctness out of control is an integral part of liberal brainwashing. Those who risk giving a conservative view often are stuck with a label such as homophobe, sexist, or racist. Labels like these don’t just embarrass the Conservative, but can also damage this student. Most students won’t say anything that brings on this condemnation.

It is of extreme importance that all sides of ideology are taught in the classroom. Conservative taxpayers must become informed of any kind of one-sided dogma taught without other side’s also being taught, if done in public schools with public funds.

From preschool through state supported colleges and universities, Conservatives must become more involved in what our schools are teaching. Brainwashing just the liberal side of an issue in public schools must stop. Please give me your opinion on this timely educational matter.

Former web blogger Artus Register has a new website focusing on pro-freedom action this time, rather than words. The libertarian activist says that his new organization is unique, and not just another place for freedom lovers to sit around complaining.

“The point of this is action-something the freedom movement has been sorely lacking,” Register says.

While admitting that many new sites and organizations allegedly committed to freedom have popped up in the wake of the Ron Paul Revolution, Register says the new organization, Liberty’s Torch is quite different from the rest.

One huge difference is the top to bottom management, which is a sort of 3 level hierarchy containing libertarian worker ants, state and local coordinators, and project leaders. The first goal, we hear often, is to “change the conversation.”

The Projects, having their own page on the site, include stopping the auto bailout, voiding state power through jury nullification, and bringing a swift end to the Iraq war. These ambitious goals are made, Register says, much more realistic by another huge difference the organization enjoys-conjunctive effort.

“The state isn’t the only enemy of liberty. Our own bigotry hurts us as much as anything.

“Gun rights supporters think pot smokers are the devil’s henchmen, and gays are Satan himself. Inversely, many civil libertarians think all gun guys are survivalist Klansmen in secret militias who want to Lavay government buildings. People whose rights are being destroyed by a leviathan government need to stand together and fight back.”

Through this conjunctive effort, the group plans to reach out to other who share their position, be it on guns, drugs, taxation or any other government usurpation.

“It is much easier for a thousand people to bring down a beast, than for one or two who can only hope to annoy it.”

The organization is currently seeking writers, organizers, and regional directors who will organize and facilitate fund raising, letter writing, phone call campaigns, etc. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Liberty’s Torch at resisters@libertystorch.com.

by Seth Mcaffe

While it is perfectly acceptable and encouraged for people to harbor their own beliefs in regards to the proposition, there appears to be some confusion with the actual purpose of Prop 102. We encourage all Arizona residents to seek out the facts before developing an opinion and certainly before casting a vote in November.

The sole purpose of Prop 102 is to clearly define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The proposition is not intended to deny benefits to persons or group. Over the past few months this has stirred up much confusion among many people, but it should be pointed out that by defining “marriage” as the union of one man and one woman, it does not inhibit any persons from living the way they choose. Furthermore, the purpose of Prop 102 is not to limit any individual’s benefits or rights, in fact the proposition has nothing to do with rights in any way.

Prop 102 only aims at passing an absolute definition of the word “marriage,” any other purpose or intention assigned to the proposition is done at the error of the assigner. Prop 102 is only 20 words long and strictly regards the definition of marriage? nothing more.

Prop 102 reads: “Only the union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state.” Prop 102 exists for the sole purpose of maintaining traditional marriage in the state of Arizona and in no way was designed to limit or restrict the rights and benefits of any person.

Another misunderstanding surrounding Prop 102 is the belief or concern that it is the same as Prop 107 which did not pass in 2006. While Prop 102 and Prop 107 are similar to each other, there are some very notable differences. Prop 107 includes the following; “No legal status for unmarried persons shall be created or recognized by this state or its political subdivisions that is similar to that of marriage.” The opposition of the proposition viewed this to be an attack on the domestic partner benefits of unwed individuals. Prop 102 contains no such confusion. It only seeks to define marriage as the union of one man to one woman and has no connection to domestic partner benefits.

Supporters of Prop 102 are often thought of as being solely conservative individuals are members of religious groups, but the fact is the proponents of Prop 102 are individuals from all walks of life with a variety of affiliations. Supporters of the proposition are from all cultures, religions and political sides.

It’s tempting to pigeon hole Prop 102. But the fact is this proposition is not an issue of conservative vs. liberal or one party vs. another, it’s about maintaining the traditional definition of marriage; The union of one man and one woman. Prop 102; simple and clear.
