<p>Bordering eight separate countries, the Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world. Not only does its massive river basin provide one fifth of the world&#8217;s freshwater but it teems with uncountable varieties of birds and freshwater fish. In fact, one third of all living animal and plant species are found in Amazon.</p>
<p>This is also the home of the famous acai berry. The people of the Amazon River basin region have been using the plants of the rainforest for medicinal purposes for thousands of years - and nearly 2,000 of the plants which grow in this region are known for their medicinal properties; the acai berry is believed to be one of the most powerful of these.</p>
<p>The acai berry has been used locally for millennia, but it was not until around 1990 that it began to be known outside of the area. Nowadays, nearly everyone can take advantage of the acai berry&#8217;s incredible health benefits.</p>
<p>The acai berry is a natural source of antioxidants, with ten times the antioxidant level of grapes and twice that of blueberries. There is also fibre and protein to sweeten the deal - and of course there is the flavour; the acai berry has a taste reminiscent of both chocolate and blueberries.</p>
<p>The acai berry also contains high levels of anthocyanins; the compounds which give red wines some of their health benefits. The acai berry contains a larger amount of anthocyanins than does wine and is also free of the negative effects of alcohol.</p>
<p>There are more benefits to the acai berry. This incredible tropical super-fruit is thought to be one of the most potent foods in the war against ageing. The antioxidants and anthocyanins contained in the acai berry give this fruit its anti-aging benefits. </p>
<p>Acai berries have been used to create wine which has a higher nutritional value, to battle schistosomosis and in making antibiotics to fight staph infections, amongst other health and nutritional benefits. This is a berry which is very versatile and has a wealth of nutrition and other beneficial uses.</p>
<p>The acai berry is a little, round, black-purple drupe about 1 inch in diameter. There is a similarity between this and grapes in look and feel. Whilst the immense popularity of this fruit lies in the fact that it provides incredible health benefits the flavour is also simply superb. Perhaps the easiest way to enjoy the benefits of the acai berry is by drinking it as a juice or in smoothies.</p>

<p>Sadly, emotional eating can interrupt your healthy eating and prevent you from losing weight on a consistent basis. Too often our efforts to lose weight come unstuck when we indulge in emotional eating. Using these tips and tricks can help you control your emotional eating, stay on your calories loss diet and enjoy long term weight loss.</p>
<p>Know if you are really hungry especially the difference between being physically hungry and just eating out of emotion. If you have been an emotional eater your whole life you might not understand the difference so learn to recognize that when you are really hungry your stomach will growl and you will feel a little weak and tired. That is your body&#8217;s way of saying that it needs fuel, so try letting yourself get really hungry before a meal just so that you can feel what it feels like when your body is hungry.</p>
<p>Recognize your emotional eating triggers by keeping a little notebook and a pen with you and write down when you feel like eating and what you want to eat and soon you will start to notice a pattern emerging. Do you always crave fried food after a meeting with your boss instead of meals you would eat on a calories loss diet? Do you want cake the minute you walk in the door after the evening commute or do you need a double cheeseburger at lunch just to get through the afternoon? </p>
<p>Deciding on the events and the times when you are likely to resort to daily emotional eating is the key to controlling your response to the stressors in your life that lead you to out of control eating. Plan what food you will eat or what you will do the next time you feel distressed or under pressure and replace eating with other behaviours that will help relieve your stress. Taking a brisk walk or even an exercise class or eating an apple, some low fat yoghurt or other foods from your calories loss menu, getting a friend to massage your neck or even meditating are all healthier ways to manage the pressures in your life and still lose weight.   </p>
<p>Do not buy comfort food because if it is not in the house, you will not eat it; it is just that simple. When you are feeling blue and you want something sweet or something fried as a comfort, if it is not in the house are you really going to take the time to drive to the store and buy this comfort food or go to the fast food restaurant to get something? Most people will not most of the time, so if you are craving something and you do not have it in the house you will look for a substitute rather than going out to buy whatever it is you are craving. </p>
<p>Find other means of comfort instead of food if you feel down, pressured and hyped up, like taking the dog for a walk, going for a bike ride, reading that book you have been dying to start, or meeting with a friend and discuss life over a low fat coffee. There is an endless list of what you can do when you are feeling sad or stressed apart from reaching for the munchies in those places you have always kept them. So start including these alternatives in your life as &#8216;pick me ups&#8217; and keep on that calories loss diet at the same time.</p>
<p>Stack the shelves that used to store your junk food, with healthy alternatives to use every time you experience one of your cravings and need comfort. In place of those maple syrup pancakes high in calories, keep hummus dip and fresh vegetables, and if you simply must have something sweet, try a fruit salad. It is not a matter of stopping cravings, more a case of satisfying these differently with alternative foods that will in the long term be a way of re-programming your thinking and even your palate as well as  accommodating the many foods that you will find on your calories loss diet. </p>
<p>Wait 30 minutes and when a craving does hit, wait it out by setting a timer, looking at your watch, whatever you need to do. But wait a full 30 minutes before acting on that craving. If you still are craving that food after 30 minutes, allow yourself to have a half portion of it, but you will find that usually after 30 minutes that craving will disappear. </p>
<p>Replace your cravings with those activities you enjoy doing and that along with your calories loss eating plan will help to burn fat so you can lose those extra pounds. The additional benefit of exercise is that when you swim, jog, play ice hockey or work out at the gym, your brain releases endorphins and serotonin and this gives you a sense of euphoria that replaces feelings of sadness or frustration.  So instead of reaching for the ice cream carton or the cookie jar when you are next under pressure or feeling low, &#8216;get down and boogie&#8217; doing whatever activity you enjoy most, knowing that your weight loss and your emotional well being will improve as a result.</p>

<p>There is very little to beat a full body massage delivered by a licensed professional massage therapist. It relieves you of tensions of the body and the mind, and some even go so far as to say, the soul. This article does not refer to nor recommend visits to those massage parlors that are run by unlicensed and untrained personnel.</p>
<p>Massage is a form of psychosomatic treatment. By &#8216;psychosomatic treatment&#8217; I mean that which affects the body and the mind in consort. A trained masseuse will use her knowledge of physiology to soothe the nerves. This calms the recipient&#8217;s mind. The masseuse will also manipulate the muscles and tissues to relieve physical tension. So you benefit bodily and mentally in many wonderful ways. An untrained practitioner focuses only on the physical aspect, the body. Therefore such a massage is only half done, and leaves you vaguely unsatisfied.</p>
<p>Massage as a therapeutic technique springs from the concept of &#8216;touch therapy&#8217;. This concept says that humans benefit tremendously form being touched. Babies who receive a lot of fondling in the days immediately following their birth are well and healthy. Damaged muscle fibers heal quicker when they are massaged properly. The blood circulation is stimulated by a massage, leading to overall better health and cell development. The lymphatic system, which is closely associated with the circulatory system, is also stimulated. This in turn enhances our immune system. The usual effect of a massage is an invigoratingly restorative one, which means that you get rested in such a wonderful way that you feel fresh and full of pep and energy!</p>
<p>Never had a full body massage before? It is a truly wonderful experience, as we&#8217;ll describe below.</p>
<p>A visit to a massage parlor can cost you between $50 and $100 for an hour long session by a licensed masseuse. The cost is well worth the experience. In the private cabin that you&#8217;ll be assigned, you&#8217;ll have to remove your clothes and lie face down on a massage table. An assistant will drape a sheet over you, as much for warmth as for modesty. The part being massaged will be uncovered and when that&#8217;s been massaged it will be covered up and the next portion will be uncovered. The masseuse will gently massage the body, using a massage oil, maybe, to help her fingers slide smoothly over the muscles. Aromatic oils may be mixed in with the massage oil for added aroma therapeutic effect.</p>
<p>Starting at the feet, she will work her way up, up the legs, to your hips, using her skilled hands to manipulate and relax the muscles, one by one. The blood vessels will also be relieved of various internal tensions, thereby improving the circulation of blood. The masseuse may use any one of a number of massage methods, varying in pressure and stroke, to get your circulation up to speed. Sometimes the massage therapist may use her own experience and her analysis of your particular condition to select this method; optionally, you may be asked to select the method you prefer.</p>
<p>Finished with the hips, the massage will proceed upwards over the back, the shoulders, your arms and hands, then get back to the neck and finally finish at your head.</p>
<p>You will feel a wonderful, gentle glow that is completely restorative. Just remember that massage as a therapy must be performed only by trained, licensed massage therapists, who have undergone a rigorous training in physiology. The strokes they use, the pressure to be applied, all this is part of their intense professional syllabus. They must pass a state-approved examination which includes a written portion as well as a practical portion before they are certified as professional massage therapists and licensed for public practice. All this is done to ensure that the recipient of the massage is not harmed in any way. So what are you waiting for?</p>

<p>Acne comes in many forms and can range from mild to severe. It&#8217;s found on different parts of the body, although facial acne is the most apparent. You can usually treat mild cases of acne yourself, however more serious cases are best handled by health care professionals like dermatologists.</p>
<p>The most common form of Acne is called Acne Vulgaris, which translates literally to &#8220;common acne&#8221;. This is the type that can cause blackheads, papules, pustules, whiteheads, cysts and nodules.</p>
<p>Blackheads form in pores that are partially blocked. The substance that actually causes oily skin - called sebum - along with dead cells and bacteria slowly drain to the skin&#8217;s surface. The black color occurs when the pigments in the skin are exposed to air. Blackheads can often take a long time to disappear.</p>
<p>Papules are small red-colored bumps on the skin&#8217;s surface. They&#8217;re usually tender to the touch and irritating, but it&#8217;s important not to squeeze them or even touch them if possible. Squeezing them or touching them excessively can lead to aggravation and ultimately scarring.</p>
<p>Pustules are what is common known as pimples or &#8220;zits&#8221;. They look like a red circle with a center that&#8217;s yellow or white.</p>
<p>Whiteheads differ from blackheads in that they are contained underneath the skin&#8217;s surface. These are caused by pores that are completely blocked, trapping the sebum, dead cells and bacteria beneath the surface of the skin.</p>
<p>Nodules are quite a bit bigger than most other forms of acne. They&#8217;re hard lumps underneath the skin&#8217;s surface, which are usually quite painful and can last for weeks or months. Nodules are very prone to causing scarring, so it is wise to see a dermatologist for treatment before the scarring can occur.</p>
<p>Cysts are very similar to nodules with the exception that they&#8217;re filled with pus. Cysts are usually quite painful and will often lead to scarring if they&#8217;re left untreated. As with nodules, it&#8217;s best to see a dermatologist for treatment.</p>

<p> Reconstructive plastic surgery is not what most of us would think. It is not liposuction or a facelift. It is surgery done to fix a physical ailment such as burns on the skin. The goal is to return the body to as normal a state as possible. </p>

<p>There are a variety of reasons that people suffer from skin acne, and there are many ways they can help avoid having outbreaks. Despite what parents and grandparents may have said while the kids were growing up, there is no evidence that eating that second candy bar or a few slices of pizza will cause skin acne to become worse.</p>
<p> One proven cause for acne is the changes in the body that teenagers go through.  As their hormones change it can cause blemishes and breakouts.  However, all teens go through these changes but not all have severe cases of acne.  The reason for that is not fully understood. </p>
<p> Acne is actually caused in part by natural processes that the skin goes through to take care of itself.  Our skin automatically moisturizes itself by sending sebum through the sebaceous glands to the skins surface.  Though this is a natural process if the pores in the skin are clogged by dirt, dead skin or possibly to much sebum then bumps will form and you will have a problem with acne.  That is why if you have acne problems it is important to keep your skin very clean and exfoliated.  </p>
<p> Is Cleansing All You Need? </p>
<p> Clean skin is very important.  But it is not the only factor.   In addition to dirt and oils, dead skin is another cause. <p>If your goal is to get twice as good at something, what would be the best way to approach it? I can think of two primary approaches. The approach you select will be somewhere along this continuum: doing one thing twice as good (or 100 percent better), or performing 100 activities 1 percent better. I think that most people gravitate towards the former approach, but the second is much easier to implement.</p>
<p>Taken a step further, to make each of these 1 percent building blocks more effective, you could also focus on things that occur outside of your workouts. So you focus on changing your habits and making fractional improvements in many areas that will stack on top of one another to give you huge benefits.</p>
<p>So here are 5 simple lifestyle changes you can make to help you build muscle up.</p>
<p>1) Replace Traditional Cardio with Interval Training</p>
<p>Traditional aerobic activities have a negative impact on muscle gaining because it burns branched chain amino acids (BCAA) and glycogen. Instead, focus on interval training for fat burning, for example a 400-meter sprint followed by a 400-meter recovery jog, repeated 3 more times.</p>
<p>2) Increase Total Time Under Load (TTL)</p>
<p>Instead of focusing on the number of reps, concentrate on the total time your muscles are under load. Try spending 2 seconds on the negative contraction, 1 second at neutral (bottom of the exercise), and 1 second on the positive contraction.
