<p>The problem with Alzheimer&#8217;s disease is that it isn&#8217;t immediately apparent that a person is suffering from the condition, as it develops over a long period of time starting with just a little memory loss, often attributed to advancing age. We all suffer slight memory loss which is quite normal but as Alzheimer&#8217;s progresses this condition becomes much more severe.</p>
<p>Although early knowledge about symptoms of Alzheimer&#8217;s condition may not help in curing the disease it can help make certain preparations possible especially with the help of your doctor. Locating relevant information on Alzheimer&#8217;s is no longer a problem with many organizations able to help, the World Wide Web and your family doctor.</p>
<p>Perhaps it would be easier if Alzheimer&#8217;s was discriminating with it&#8217;s victims at least then it might be possible to learn why certain people are affected but it is indiscriminate in its choice of who to affect. Public knowledge of the condition grew when the media started reporting on it when the late ex president of America, Ronald Reagan was diagnosed with the disease a few years ago.</p>
<p>Information on Alzheimer&#8217;s disease is necessary so that family and friends can keep an eye on one another as we age but now new drugs to slow or inhibit the progression of Alzheimer&#8217;s are being released into the market regularly in the hope that the disease process may one day be halted and a cure found. <p>Alzheimer&#8217;s disease is not a normal condition experienced in aging but now 50 percent of people over the age of 85 will be suffering from it each year. The cost of medical treatment each year by 2050, for the 40 million or so patients in the United States that will have the condition will be in the region of forty thousand dollars.</p>
<p>More recently a link has been discovered to suggest that some people may be prone to acquire the condition even in their late 40&#8217;s or early 50&#8217;s if they have other family members that have suffered with the disease. The importance of recognizing early severe memory loss symptoms cannot be underestimated if there is someone you know that may be suffering with the disease.</p>
<p>The condition also has other symptoms which can also be easily recognized such as the person is often confused and cannot think clearly which will often cause mood swings as they do not understand what is going on. Early recognition has been proved to be successful in the slowing down of this incurable disease but it requires we learn what symptoms to look for before we contact a doctor.</p>
<p>Do not delay seeking medical treatment if you believe you know someone whether a loved one or not may have the condition as it can make all the difference.</p>

<p>If you take the time to read up on all the deadly diseases that can be found just outside your door, you probably would never go outside. It is that scary. West Nile Virus is hardly the most dangerous of threats, but it is still plenty deadly. </p>
<p>West Nile Virus is interesting because it is a variation of Encephalitis that actually looks like Dengue Fever. In the vast majority of cases, it has little or no effect on infected people, but it is deadly to a small minority of patients. </p>
<p>If you live in an area with mosquitoes, you may have been infected with West Nile and not even know it. Why? In many cases, the body can defeat it without any symptoms even being apparent. </p>
<p>Following the incubation period, the infected person can expect to experience fever, headache, chills, excessive sweating, weakness, swollen lymph nodes and drowsiness. A rash and gastrointestinal problems can arise as well. </p>
<p>Most cases of West Nile resolve in roughly ten days. For a very small minority of patients, the disease does not. Instead, it begins to affect the spinal cord and brain. A near coma is induced and death can be the ultimate result. </p>
<p>Given the name, most people view West Nile Virus as one of those health threats that are third world countries. While this is true, many first world countries have the problem. The United States is certain included in this group. </p>
<p>For the three year period of 1999 through 2001, 18 people died in the United States from West Nile. That number jumped to 284 in 2002. 100 to 200 people have died each year since 2002 with 124 died in 2007.</p>
<p>Surviving West Nile is all about not getting it. While birds carry it around the world, mosquitoes actually infect humans. How? The mosquitoes bite both birds and humans, which transfers the virus. </p>
<p>To break the chain of transport, you should go after those buzzing bugs. Mosquitoes need standing water to reproduce. Eliminate it and they will disappear. In the meantime, wear insect repellent to hold them off. </p>
<p>Mosquitoes in general are the transporters of many deadly diseases, not just West Nile Virus. If you eliminate mosquitoes around your living space, West Nile Virus and other diseases become less of a concern.</p>

<p>What Is The Right Way To Fall Asleep</p>
<p>Sleep apnea is a very serious disease; one that&#8217;s responsible for millions of deaths globally. Though this affliction has a prescribed treatment and medication, a natural cure would always be greater and easier to adopt. It is not necessary that whenever there&#8217;s a sleep problem there is sleep apnea.  </p>
<p>For everyone, there are many traditional ways to use to induce sleep. Few of these are described hereunder quickly. Try them all and see whether it helps the sleep problem you&#8217;ve. In case it does not, then you consider checking with your dr. for in depth check up and necessary medication.</p>

<p>Revving up your resting metabolic rate is a proven method for losing extra body fat and keeping it off.  By increasing your resting metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns calories while at rest, also known as your RMR) you can lose extra pounds and keep them off.  Since muscle burns calories, adding muscle to your body will raise your RMR - you&#8217;ll feel better, have more energy, and you will maintain your weight loss as your body burns more calories even when you are not exercising.</p>
<p>Loss of muscle mass is one of the most well documented and marked problems with aging because it has major healthcare implications.  After age 40 men and women both begin to lose between one half and one pound of muscle mass per year.  Over time that drop in muscle mass can trigger a significant decline in strength.  It&#8217;s called Sarcopenia (loss of muscle strength and mass due to aging) and it is estimated to account for in excess of $18 billion in health care costs.  So as we age we feel worse and are more susceptible to disease including the big killer, heart disease.  As far as weight and appearance, the loss of muscle mass results in a reduction in the number of calories that your body metabolizes while at rest, so calories you eat turn into fat!  Loss of muscles leads to an increase in FAT!</p>
<p>The temporary nature of diets don&#8217;t address the long-term issue of losing fat <i>and keeping it off</i>, and the gradual loss of muscle mass over time accelerates the rate at which you put on fat.  The best approach to losing fat and keeping it off, then, is to find an acceptable level of exercise that will keep you fit, strong and lean.  Here are a few guidelines that will help you develop just such a plan:</p>
<p>1) <b>Keep it simple, and start slow</b>.  Especially if you are new to exercise. If you <i>are</i> new to exercising you&#8217;re in for a surprise, because your routine does not have to be difficult at all in the beginning to make a big difference in how you feel.  You can start by making simple changes to your everyday activities.  Take the stairs when you can instead of using the elevator or escalator.  Whether at home or at your place of work, walking - even for a short distance - is both a good form of exercise and a great way to break up the day.</p>
<p>2) <b>Set a goal</b>.  DO NOT set a difficult goal - set a goal that is very simple and easy to obtain.  For example, start with a goal of five minutes of exercise per day.  You can grow this to ten minutes after a month and so on, but <i>start easy</i>!  Don&#8217;t set an initial goal that will be difficult to obtain - it&#8217;s a recipe for failure.</p>
<p>3) <b>Write it down, and tell others</b>.  If you can choose a goal and write down daily how you perform against this goal, you will begin to see progress.  This is key.  Also, if you make it a part of your routine to report your performance against your goal to other people - friends, family - it will help motivate you and keep you true to your program.</p>
<p>4) <b>Expand your goals</b>.  As time goes by you will want to change and increase your goals - <i>gradually</i> of course - adding more time and then perhaps adding more strenuous exercise.</p>
<p>These steps are for those who are new to exercise as a way of losing weight, and if you follow them for several months you will find yourself feeling better and in better shape.  You will eventually exhaust your own knowledge and ability to self-recommend the next steps for growth.  This also happens frequently with those who are familiar with exercise and its benefits, but who might need guidance in growing or aligning their exercise routine to fit their goals.  In either case new and fun additions could come in the form of more vigorous exercise such as jogging, swimming or weight training.  These are examples of forms of exercise that will permit dramatic increases in the demands that you place upon your body, and in the returns that you gather in the form of your sense of well-being, your appearance and weight loss. <p>Looking for ways to lose abdominal fat, then this is the article for you.  Below are just some of the tips on how to lose abdominal fat and help you keep the weight off.</p>
<p>1. Set a reasonable target - Creating proper goals can help you lose belly fat. The first step is to be clear on your goals and the reasons for losing your belly fat.  State your mission on a piece of paper or blog it - and stating clearly your reasons for them.  Alternatively, instead of stating your weight goal - why not look at trying to get down a clothing size or two.  Being able to try on a smaller suit or dress will give you a great sense of achievement.  A physical goal is much more realistic and simpler to achieve.  But make it a long-term commitment to yourself, because the truth is, you will have to work harder to lose the inches off your waist.</p>
<p>2. Time to Huff and puff with the best cardio workout - the interval method.  Start out at an easy pace for 90 seconds (about 40% of your maximum effort), then increase your speed to the fastest pace you ca maintain for 30 seconds (about 95% of your maximum)- that&#8217;s one interval.  Repeat 5 times, for a total 6 intervals.  It is short but intense, and the best part is - it will save you time away from home or work.  And unlike traditional steady state aerobic exercise, it will keep your body burning fat at a higher rate for hours after you are finished.  You can do this on the park or on a treadmill, but if you are packing more than 20 extra pounds, opt for an exercise bike to minimise the stress on your knees.</p>
<p>3. Lose the Juice - replace your 300ml glass of daily juice with a piece of fruit.  Eating fresh fruits is an all round winner.  Juice - even if it 100% pure and natural - is high in sugar and low in fiber.  Eat the whole fruit instead - especially low GI options such as apples, pears and orange - and you will still get all the valuable vitamins with the extra benefit of fiber fullness and far fewer calories!</p>
<p>4. Farewell Fats - regardless of whether you&#8217;re using healthy olive and sunflower oils instead of butter or lard to taste, baked or fired food, all fats have the same high calorie content and will add weight if used in excess.  Cutting out one tablespoon daily of any kind of fat or oil - by dry frying food in a non-stick pan, grilling, baking or simply using a quick blast of spray oil - can see you go down a full clothing size in a year.</p>
<p>5. Get come carbo fitness - that is complex carbs.  Complex carbohydrate are a saintly group - they consist of wholegrain breads, cereals, legumes, rice, pasta, starchy vegetables and fruits.  If you combine complex carbs with protein, it actually causes a series of fat burning reactions to occur.  Complex carbs like protein require more energy to be digested.  When both are present they work together to spur your metabolism on to feed the muscle and burn the fat.  Eating sensibly and including all good groups will bring success.  The right fuel for your body will turn you into a mean, lean machine!  Hence try to cut down on the white rice, white bread and other processed foods and add more whole-grains into your meals!</p>
<p>Although losing weight is hard work - it should not be about food deprivation.  Instead it should be about making positive changes over time, enjoying your favorite foods in moderation but in the same time reducing the amount of bad foods you eat, and getting some kind of regular exercise.  And when you blend all this in, you are well on your way to losing that abdominal fat. So take action, be consistent and stay patient.</p>
