Looking for some extra cash? Sure, we all are in this economy. Who doesn’t need additional income right now? But you’re probably employed full time already. Or, maybe you’re a student, or just someone’s who more laid back, and you just need work that’s flexible but pays well. Well, in both cases, valet parking attendant might be just what you’re looking for.

What’s so great about the job? Well, one of the best things about valet parking is the money. You won’t be able to retire in a few years from what you make, but the tips can be very, very good. Most people know that they should tip the person that parks their car. And most of them will. When it’s raining, your tips will be even bigger. And don’t forget you’ll also be getting a base wage.

Environment is another great benefit. Sure, you could go work at a factory, or be tied down in a retail business, but that’s no fun. With this job, you’ll be making cash, meeting the beautiful people, and driving nice cars. That’s hard to beat!

Another big reason is flexibility. With a lot of valet services, you can choose what days you want to work. Got a date? Don’t work that night. Your son has a big Little League game coming up? Take the weekend off. This is one of the best parts of the job.

What makes a good employee? The main thing employers are looking for, besides dependability, is someone with a clean background. As in no criminal history, and a good driving record. They want drivers who they can trust not to have a collision while parking, and not to steal the car, or valuables from it. If you’ve kept your nose clean, you’ve got a head start against many other applicants.

You should have a professional appearance, too. Sorry, but if you’re covered with tattoos, you’re probably not going to get hired. You can talk to your prospective employer, and they may let you wear long sleeve shirts. But, frankly, they’re probably not going to hire someone with lots of tattoos. That image doesn’t exactly scream “safe driver.” The same goes double for body piercings.

Preferably, you should be a non smoker. It goes without saying that you won’t be smoking on the job, but many companies won’t hire you at all if you use tobacco. People are very finicky when it comes to their cars, and they notice strange odors right away. And drugs? Let’s not even go there.

So if you look good, don’t use tobacco or drugs, and have mostly obeyed the law, you’re a great candidate for a valet parking service attendant. Don’t waste your time with fast food, and don’t tear up your car delivering for Pizza Hut. Start parking cars!

The best thing to do after graduation is to find a job in line with what you studied. So if you studied to be an electrician, it would be best to find that kind of work. But in order to do that you’ll need a resum.

A rsum provides the basic information about your work history and experience. They show an employer whether you are qualified for the job that you seek. You may have little or no experience in writing a rsum. You do not have to worry: here are some tips to help you write your own rsum.

You can’t submit application forms when you’re applying as an electrician. Sure, they’re easy but they’re hardly enough to make you qualified. Resums are the keybecause they truly provide a list of your qualifications in relation to the job you’re applying for.

There are just several methods you can take to make an effective resum. You have to remember that your resum must showcase your talents, skills, background, and experience. When applying as an electrician, you should include which school you graduated from, the specialization, the place you took your apprenticeship in, and some of your professional experience, if you have any.

Your resum must be very brief, concise and easy to read. It is not a wise decision to fill your resum with impertinent information, which could only serve to confuse your employer. It should be that the first time an employer reads it, he or she finds out the basic information that prove that you’re qualified for the job.

The basic information that is needed in an electrician rsum is the following:

* Your contact information (Full name, address, telephone number, mobile number, email address). * Your qualifications and educational background. * Employment objective or goal. * Work experience, if any. * Special skills and abilities

You should not include references within the resum itself but you should include them in another sheet. If your employer asks for references then that is the time you should give them out. A reference is a specific person that can assure the information you supplied is correct.

A job interview is considered to be a very challenging task by most job seekers. There is big fear factor, because of which, candidate get nervous while interviewing, and ultimately it results in a bad outcome. Having successful job interviews requires good preparation and good presence of mind. Job interview is the key factor from which companies judge candidates and make sure that the company is running in talented and safe hands. From this interview, an employer attempts to get in to your mind and draws out your past, present and future lloking for a match to the jobs they have available. Therefore, if you show up without any strategy or preparation for your employment, then you will mess up the job interview and it will affect your impression and overall career.

Getting ready for an interview is something that both you and your interviewer will be doing. Your interviewer will choose questions based on your previous work experience as a sort of test (and an interview is nothing if not a test) of how you would perform if given this position. You need to convince your interviewer that choosing you for the position will add to their record of success with the company in question. Try to be prepared for the tough and tricky questions which will be asked during the job interview.

Three questions you should be able to answer if asked are the old standbys “Why do you want this job?”, “Why do you want to work for this company?” and “What is your current salary?”. Others which are likely to be asked are about your skills, your achievements and your expectations from the position to which you are applying. Answer these questions in as much detail as you can manage and of course, honestly.

It is imperative that you have some answers to give for these questions - it is even more important that you be able to give examples from your personal experience to illustrate these answers. You can use these anecdotes to build a rapport with your interviewer, which is very important in trying to land that job.

Be prepared when you walk in for a job interview. Have at least (preferably more) two copies of your resume, three references and if applicable, your portfolio. This is not just a conversation you’ll be having, but you will have the opportunity to let the interviewer get to know you and make as strong of a case as possible for yourself.

A very important thing to prepare for a job interviewer is a few company-specific questions for your interviewer. Asking these questions will work for you by demonstrating that you have put some thought into this position and are serious about this job and this company. Your interviewer will take note of this.

Make sure to look professional for a job interview. Dress professionally, but keep a relaxed manner about you. The most important thing is to project confidence; this is likely to make you memorable to your interviewer.

Conclusion

This article has attempted to cover the many aspects that go along with having a successful job interview outcome. If you were to sum up this entire article you could say the job interview is what connects the expectations and needs of the employer with the skills and resources of the job seeker. To the degree that you can sell the OBVIOUSNESS of the fit through your WORDS and ACTIONS then the easier and better your job interview experiences will be.

You worked hard for your money for a decade or two. Maybe three. Suddenly your company downsized, or you were fired, or your health declined. In any case, you found yourself no longer employed, yet still have the same bills. Aside from your ego reduced to the size of a molecule, you feel confused, bitter, and sometimes hopeless.

Now is the time to “change your mind as to what happened to you”, otherwise, you may find yourself wallowing in “victim role” which will not help you make it through this. Though it sounds trite, for certain, this ending is your new beginning. Now is the time to do just what you wanted to do in the first place with your life. But wait, you still have the same bills. What about that new German car in the carport? What about the fact that you have gone green and will only ingest organic foods now? What about wining and dining clients and friends you made from the business where you worked?

I’m not going to sugar coat it. You suffered a real trauma. I just want you to know what to expect, and that it is very do-able no matter what resources you have or don’t have. A lot of it depends on various factors such as savings, return on your investments, are you a trust-fund baby? Do your friends and family have resources and willing to help?

I found myself with nothing but a beat up used car few dollars, and a used computer. Oh, and a loyal stray mutt, who I gave the title “administrative assistant”.

Want to know the 7 steps that worked for me? I designed them for you. There was no roadmap. I easily could have written an e-book and sold it, but I was in your boat once, and paying “a guru for an ebook” was hit or miss. Here is the real scoop. It worked for me, and worked very well. I now own 13 web stores and the top cartoon site on the Internet. I started with nothing. My intelligence is not that much more than above average, in other words, am no Einstein.

1. Budget your life and change your lifestyle: Think about selling the suburban home, furniture, and take a modest apartment. I am single and this will not work for everyone. You may decide to keep your house and find another job to pay the notes. I did not have that luxury as my health turned into an official disability. In any case, one’s level of living may decline. Get it in your mind this is not the end of the world. In fact it is a chance to truly show the creative you.

1. Start making lifestyle changes now: I made a small office in my apartment and put my computer there. My biggest “luxury” was now cable Internet. I adopted a rescue dog to keep me company and remind me of what was important. Now I had to care for something important to me aside from my job, a living creature. Do you own a summer home? Great item to sell. A Cessna? Fly on the net, dump the plane.

3 Research: I studied everything I could about online businesses. Since I happened to be a cartoonist, I found POD (Print On Demand) manufacturers willing to try my images on such products such as t-shirts, mouse pads, buttons, magnets, posters, and other items that people love to purchase on the Internet, mainly because they cannot be found elsewhere and they are considered valuable collectibles by many. I realize not everyone is a cartoonist. Maybe you are a plumber or banker or psychologist. In any case, you now have a skill that can be purveyed as information on the Internet. The Internet is now where people go mostly for information. Long gone are the days of newspaper for their major news source.

4.Research More: Just a little research is not enough. You are embarking on a whole new career journey. Read all the major trade magazines online. Read articles from major online ezines like Ezinearticles.com and Helium.com and others on your topic. Google “how to launch a newsletter on banking or law or whatever field you were in. You are still in it actually, but now you are simply in it in another form. A purveyor of information. Possibly a creator of goods.

5. Look at POD Printing (Print On Demand) firms. You can sign up free. You may have slogans, art or both that can be sold on various products. Such companies include Printfection, Zazzle, Cafepress and others. Maybe you’ve written some slogans, designed some graphics or both. Great. You’re in business!

6 Study up on blogging, article marketing, pay per click, Google, Ebay and all the sites that offer opportunity for you to promote and sell your product or service. But don’t stop after the studying (as most do). Then it is time to act.

7 1.Write an e-book on what you know and sell it on Clickbank (they specialize in digital products). Don’t know how to write an e-book? There are plenty of articles on it. Don’t want to sell your own? Sell someone else’s. Most have affiliate/associate programs

Staying “in the game” during this downtime is hard work, but very do-able if you practice a discipline way of working at home. You may find you never want to go back to “corporate America”. There are now more than 30 million Americans working in home offices according to statistics. And guess what. These people are the ones creating the most jobs, while the large companies continue to downsize. It might be time to re-evaluate what “security” really is. In a nutshell, all you have to have is a little belief in yourself, the ability to organize yourself, and act on the information your are absorbing. If I can do it, you can do it. And I did.

Buying domestic helper insurance is as easy as purchasing commodities in a grocery. It comes in different packages offering different policies. Depending on what you like and what you need, all you have to do is choose.

Domestic helper insurance companies have different policies and ways of implementing them. Awareness of what to look for in domestic helper insurance and insurance company is very important. Careful consideration of the details of the insurance policy and insurance company is a must. Knowing the insurance company creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence.

Many big insurance companies are in the field of customer service for years already. Their credibility foundation is strong not only because they have wider network, but more importantly, they know how to implement their policies effectively and to take care of their clients. In choosing domestic helper insurance company, look for credibility.

Apart from the credibility foundation of an insurance company, it is very important to scrutinize the insurance policies. Insurance companies have different plans to suit the domestic helper’s needs. A basic plan normally includes compensation and hospitalization in case of accidents, but there are more details to be aware of.

Some policies cover just the medical insurance of the domestic helper, while some include the dental insurance. There are policies which cover all types of accidents, oftentimes called full protection, and there are some which clearly indicates exclusions from the plan coverage. Other details like repatriation expense, service allowance insurance, etc. in favor of the domestic helper vary from one insurance policy to another.

Domestic helper insurance also guarantees employers from fraud and theft. Even unauthorized use of Direct Dialing System are covered by some companies. Domestic helper insurance covers any loss of property and the like depending on the insurance policy. And not only that, the insurance company also takes care of the expenses the employer should have incurred in case the maids suffer from accidents and illnesses.

Domestic helper insurance is meant to secure professional dependency between the maids and the employer. The same way as they help each other on normal occasions, both their needs are taken care of by the domestic helper insurance company during difficult times. In buying domestic helper insurance, choose which policy is effective and right for you. The cost may vary depending on which package you prefer, so it is very necessary to balance the quality and affordability of the domestic helper insurance.

Lastly, the terms and conditions of buying a domestic helper insurance should be read carefully. Every detail of the agreement must be understood by all parties.

by Alice Sy

There are Filipino maids in practically every country in the world. This comes as no surprise because they are considerably paid higher wages abroad than in the Philippines.

Statue Square, Hong Kong is only one of a thousand places scattered across the globe where the smiles and cheers of Filipino helpers can be seen. It is indeed marvelous to know that domestic helpers from our country are so valued in foreign lands. At times, many have been thinking why Filipino helpers are so treasured in other countries.

Working as Filipino helpers should not be looked upon with disdain and embarrassment. After all, while the job entails many laborious and dirty work, Filipino maidservants are excelling in this kind of business abroad. In fact, they are even admired by their foreign employers because of the quality of service that they render coupled with their honesty, loyalty and sincere dedication to duty.

Indeed, Filipino servants are able to do things maids from other countries can not afford to do. For example, only a maid from the Philippines can take on the job of cleaning the toilet bowls without complaining.

Only a maid from the Philippines can dedicate long hours of work without the slightest hint of a scowl on her face. She can get up as early as dawn to begin her responsibilities and retire very late at night. She can do all these things every day without objection. They are rather an easy lot to deal with so many foreign employers prefer to hire them to other maids.

Filipino helpers are also known for their ability to establish a close bond with their employers. Being far away from home, they have nobody else but each other, so in many cases, they consider their employers to be members of their own family.

Aside from these, Filipino helpers are generally very warm, sensitive, and affectionate, thus they can easily bond to their foreign employers, considering them as their own families. Because they are so far away from home, they tend to treat their employers as their closest kin. Their employers, touched by this show of affection, also treat these maidservants from the Philippines as part of their family. Because of this, it sort of becomes a habit for these maids to bring pictures and stories of their employers when they go home to the Philippines.

Wherever they are, Filipino maids working abroad give dignity to their mother country, the Philippines. However, they should not be tagged merely as servants who do dirty jobs. Instead, they should be regarded with much admiration and appreciation for their extreme dedication, loyalty, and sincerity, as well as for all the sacrifices they have to endure while working miles away from home.

Last year, a couple in Nassau, Bahamas found 1MaidHK.com–the internet marketing arm of World Champ International Employment Agency through the internet and placed a live-in maid job order.

An excellent job offer was given for the live-in maid position which consists of 5-day work, free food, accommodation and airticket to Bahamas and four weeks paid annual leave upon completion of 2 years contract. The good news is that the much awaited Bahamas work permit has finally been approved.

For the live-in maid position, Lorena stands out among the 4 applicants in terms of educational attainment and working experience. She is now very excited to work in Bahamas after receiving the work permit and air ticket from her Bahamas employer. “Don’t easily give up amidst trial, grab every job opportunity for your family’s future and apply through a reliable agency - World Champ International Employment Agency”, says Lorena.

The employer files the application in Bahamas and part of the requirement is to show that there is no suitable Bahamian candidate for the position. This includes advertising in newspapers. The processing of Bahamas work permit took approximately 2-3 months from the time the job offer was confirmed. Work permit fees range from $350 to $10,000 per year depending on the category. For the live-in maid category, the employer paid $650 work permit fee.

The size of the Bahamas work permit is approximately 5 inches x 7.75 inches, light yellow green in color and got one year validity from date of issue. The top of the work permit read as “Permit to engage in gainful occupation”. Information such as job position, employer’s name, employer’s residence address, live-in maid’s name as well as the applicant’s photo can also be found in the work permit.

Those who are planning to enter through USA enroute to Bahamas is required to apply for a transit visa. The procedure and requirements is actually the same as US non-immigrant visa application. Inorder to avoid the transit visa problem, some Bahamas employer has to face the fact of buying a more expensive ticket from HK via London enroute to Bahamas.

With the power of internet marketing, many life changing job opportunity awaits many Filipino domestic helpers in Hong Kong who are willing to face the challenges of a new culture and new environment by internet posting in one of Hong Kong’s most powerful domestic helper online platform — 1MaidHK.com !

Ways in finding domestic helpers in Hong Kong have developed through the years. With the expanding demand for domestic helpers, the market is also growing extensively. And different activities have been practiced in Hong Kong to find domestic helpers. Here are some of them.

Referral from friends and relatives is a common and reliable way to find a domestic helper. Your friends and relatives might know someone who worked for them before. They are referring the helper maybe because they find her trustworthy and they are confident that the helper will do well in taking care of your household. Another form of referral is through friends and relatives of your present employee. Your maid might have a friend or a relative who is willing to work as a domestic helper. Such endorsements somehow guarantee that the domestic helpers being referred are of good moral character.

The mission of the traditional agencies comes in. Traditional agencies are responsible in looking for the right domestic helper you want. The employer sets the requirements for domestic helper while the agencies look for the perfect, or even closer, match. The agencies are doing the preliminary screening and evaluation after which they prepare the necessary documentation before the employer hires the domestic helper. This is a convenient way of looking for competent and qualified domestic helpers.

Speaking of convenience, internet platforms and advertisements are perfect tools to consider. Online domestic helper websites in Hong Kong is a breakthrough in this field of service. Domestic helper sites provide vital information employers are interested in. They also serve as search engines in finding the right domestic helper for you. Through the internet, employers can basically evaluate the profiles of domestic helpers and choose from the qualified applicants.

A forum is also a very helpful site available through the internet. Exchange of comprehensive information is done by employers and domestic helpers in the hope of finding what they are looking for.

Posting advertisements on bulletin boards in public places is an effective way of finding domestic helpers in Hong Kong. Popular spots like Park N’ Shop and Wellcome superstores have bulletin boards which domestic helpers regularly check for job postings.

If you prefer to hire a domestic helper with the same values and religion, then the church congregation is the best place to look for. Relating with the domestic helpers from the same organization easy and reliable because you get to casually interact regularly though the gatherings.

Living in a big residential building makes it easy for you to find domestic helpers. All you have to do is post your requirements in your building’s bulletin board and for sure application letters will be coming in.

No less than the President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, brands domestic helpers from the Philippines as supermaids, a term, they, indeed, so richly deserve. These domestic helpers have, for years, endured the loneliness and pain of being far away from home in order to be able to give their families a better life. Because of this, they have been well appreciated and admired by people all over the world.

Domestic helpers are famous for their being good workers. Dedicated and loyal, it is not uncommon for wealthy families abroad to hire Filipino maids. In fact, many foreigners would rather prefer Filipina maids to maids from other nationalities because Filipina maids can come up with work that is of higher quality. They seem to be tireless and to never run out of energy. They are versatile workers, too. They can work from sun up to sun down, doing a variety of chores, such as cooking, babysitting, housekeeping, caregiving, and the like.

Also, Filipina maids can speak English better than their counterparts from other countries. They can be easily trained, and are fast learners of any foreign language. These qualities of Filipina maids give them the edge when it comes to employment opportunities.

Abroad, these domestic helpers from the Philippines are doing very well. In fact, they are making a good name for themselves with their dedication, loyalty, and honesty.

Further, they are found to be full of life and bursting with enthusiasm, even if they are assigned to do some dirty jobs. They seldom ever complain, and they can work for very long hours from dawn to midnight. Moreover, they can do a multitude of tasks, from babysitting, caregiving, cooking, and doing household chores. Because of these traits, they are very much admired not only by their foreign employers, but by almost everyone around the world.

Indeed, to have a Filipina in a foreign household is a pride to an employee. In England, royalties, elites, and rich businessmen have Filipina servants. So as in Italy and France. In Greece, a family is considered well-to-do if they have a maid coming from the Philippines.

Another reason why Filipinas are preferred is their ability to communicate well in English. They are also fast learners with the language their employers speak. Unlike the Chinese, Mexicans, and Indians, they speak more fluent and understand their employer’s instruction better because they know their language.

In the United States and elsewhere, there is a seemingly huge demand for domestic helpers from the Philippines. Filipina maids have sterling records when it comes to their dedication and quality of work, and these records have remained unstained up to this very day.

Job seekers who have been on the hunt for a job can easily benefit by going through an online employment guide. It is a handy resource that can help any one locate jobs not just in the immediate area but almost in any area of the country. A good online employment guide is jam packed with useful information that can let a job seeker focus on helpful tips and advice for landing the position they want.

Online employment guides generally allow individuals: to create a profile, post their resume, browse a number of helpful articles. Since it is an online venue, it is also a place where those seeking employment can form a group, helping each other about first hand advice on a variety of topics.

If you opt to use an online employment guide, you are given the choice to use one of the larger, better known websites or a better venue. Often, cities or counties will create their own employment guides, helping individuals to search in the neighboring areas with more attention for job search.

Remember, larger the websites better are the features and higher is the activity. Some will simply prefer the smaller websites for better localized knowledge. Bigger websites are also a good choice for those seeking employment in other countries. Career centers whether found in the neighborhood or outside can also offer their own employment guides for those who use their services.

Online employment guides not only give job listings but also newsletters, salary guides based on state, links for online education programs, skill assessments and even relocation services. For job freshers this information can be quite handy and can help them from securing a job till they plan for a retirement.

Along with a number of other high tech features, some sites even offer blogs that give an insider’s view on the current job market. The informal voice of a blog is a welcome change to job seekers, who are always surrounded by proper job interview skills and other forms of decorum.

Online employment guides can also provide great advice for the self employed. Since more individuals have started to leave the job search to work for themselves, self employment resources are in great demand. The self employed worker needs a comfortable location or venue where he or she can group with others and exchange tips and advice.

Few employment guides can even offer information on work at home opportunities. Irrespective of the nature of the job one prefers to do, one will always be in a position to find information on a variety of home based jobs.
